So much has changed since the start of the pandemic, but what we wear and how much we weigh seems to be a fairly common, and popular, talking point. Read More…

If you are spending Easter at home this year, then decluttering the outside is an inexpensive project that will leave you feeling great.
If you live in Melbourne like I do, then we still have a few weeks of (possibly) nice weather before we head into the cooler days in May. Time spent on cleaning up now makes it much easier when Spring does come, and will give you a calm, stress free space to look out on when its too cold to go outside.
Pick up all the rubbish
Broken toys, dead plants, broken pots, old pet toys, food wrappers, newspapers, boxes, broken furniture. It all needs to go in the bin or put in a pile for hard rubbish. Look carefully at any garden decorations and decide if they are still adding value. Chances are that the rusted wind chime that you don’t even notice anymore is bringing down the vibe and needs to go!
Collect all the “stuff”
BBQ utensils, toys, sports equipment, mugs, glasses, sunscreen, towels – you get the picture. Bring it inside, clean it up and put it away.
Clean up all the Outdoor Furniture
Wash down and de-cobweb all your outdoor furniture. Make a space in the garage or shed for any cushions so they are ready to come out and be used straight away when the warm weather returns and consider putting a cover over any thing that stays outside but could deteriorate in the weather.
Mow, Rake, Sweep
Now that nothing is in the way give any lawns a mow, rake up all the garden rubbish and sweep or hose down any paving.
For bonus points you could brush away cobwebs from the outside of the house and clean the windows but in reality just doing one of the steps above will make a positive difference. Doing something no matter how little is better than doing nothing. Sometimes all we need to do is start!
Some days the outside of your home can be too overwhelming to tackle or you just simply don’t have time. So if you need a hand, Sensibly Sorted would love to help.
